The First Annual Shamrock Beer Run 5k was held Saturday, March 19 in the historic and beautiful downtown Arlington Heights area at the intersection of Vail Avenue and Campbell Street (217 W. Campbell Street). The downtown area was flooded with green; that is, a lot of happy Irish-green decorated runners!

Event Details:
The run starts at 11am in Arlington Heights with a 5K run/walk complete with 5 beer stops, one at each 1K serving up 3 oz of craft beer so you’re sure not run out of thirst! Five craft breweries sponsoring the race will be present to provide samples for you to taste. 31 ounces of beer total!!
All participants will also receive a souvenir pint-glass & long-sleeve t-shirt with their registration. At the end of the run, participants will receive a commemorative finishers medal (which is also an awesome bottle opener with magnet) and pint of beer from the brewery of their choice. Additional beer tickets may be purchased at the finish area after the event.
Because this event serves alcohol, local laws and ordinances apply. Participation is limited to those who are 21 years of age or older. A valid proof of age ID will be required to receive a wrist band that signifies an approved participant.
We anticipate a large crowd so plan to come early to find parking and get checked in.
Personalized Bibs
If you register before February 24, 2016 you can personalize your bib (see examples below).
After the deadline, you can personalize your bib at the venue if you wish.
We’ll have Sharpies available for that purpose.

THERE WILL BE NO STREET PARKING IN THE DOWNTOWN ARLINGTON HEIGHTS AREA. With the number of participants registered for this event, parking will be very limited so we are strongly encouraging participants to car pool.

Shamrock 5K Beer Run is a fun event that celebrates St. Patrick's Day and all that is Irish. But we're not without our serious side. Shamrock 5K Beer Run and its parent organization, Fun Races, Inc. believe in philantropy and giving a portion of our proceeds to valued organizations.

Animal House Shelter is a non-profit, no kill shelter that rescues, rehabilitates and adopts out all breeds of dogs and cats. Every animal rescued is spay/neutered, receives all vaccines and boosters, heartgard, frontline, dewormed and a microchip before it is adopted. Foster homes and volunteers are always needed. Serving Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana and Iowa.
Northern Illinois Food Bank solves hunger by providing nutritious meals to those in need in Boone, DuPage, DeKalb, Grundy, Kane, Kankakee, Kendall, Lake, McHenry, Ogle, Stephenson, Will & Winnebago counties. Help them make a difference for hungry neighbors when you donate time, food or money.
Protected Tomorrows Charities is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to helping families with special needs optimize the lifelong care of their loved ones.
